Ready to Book?

My work is designed to tell and capture your family's story at this moment in time....so I only feel it is right that I share mine. I've been a specialist newborn and family photographer based in Thame, Oxfordshire since 2014. I first became a mother in 2016 and that changed everything.

When my eldest was just a few days old the midwife noticed something wasn't quite right. We were re-admitted to hospital and days later we discovered she had a hole in her heart. Overnight our world felt like it rearranged itself. Not just in the ways the books and antenatal classes prepare you for - the 3am feeds, the love that arrives like something seismic, but in ways I could never have anticipated. For seven months we closely fed, weighed and monitored her but then it was decided she needed open heart surgery.
She was just seven months old. 

I don't think you ever fully find the words for something like that. That particular weight of worry that lives in your body before you've even opened your eyes. The way you hold your baby a little closer, wondering what the future holds. It makes you realise how precious and fragile life is. 

She is nine now, bright, bold and thriving. But those early weeks and months - the fear, the love and vulnerability I felt - it never really leaves you. That is why every session and every family I welcome I carry those experiences with me.

I know what new, real and raw parenthood looks like. The one where you're doing your very best and wondering if it is enough. Where you're feeling exhausted in a way that sleep alone does not fix. When that one hot cup of tea and someone saying sit down and rest feels like the kindest gift.

That is what I want my studio to feel like. When you walk through my door, there is no pressure, no expectations, no need to perform or have everything figured out...just honest, real and documenting your family as it is now.

If your baby needs to feed, we stop. If you need a moment, we take one.  I will never take lightly the gift of your trust when you bring your newborn to my studio.
